How to Add Music to Your Telegram Profile

Telegram recently rolled out a feature that lets you attach a music track to your profile. It shows up below your avatar like a status, and anyone you share your profile with can see it. No Premium subscription needed. You can search for music in public channels or bots, for example @TgSoundBot.

Where to find tracks

Telegram does not tie into streaming platforms the way Spotify or Apple Music do. Your profile music can only come from files already inside the app — shared in a channel, forwarded in a chat, saved to your Favorites, or uploaded by you through the attach menu. Many users also browse dedicated music bots or groups; you might try @TgSoundBot as one option among several for discovering shareable audio.

On a phone or tablet

  1. 1

Start playing the track. A window appears at the top of the screen.

  2. 2

Tap that window, then press Add to Profile in the popup.

  3. 3

The track is now pinned under your avatar.

On desktop or web

  1. 1

Find a track in any chat, channel, or bot.

  2. 2

Right-click the track and pick Save to… → Profile.

  3. 3

The track appears in your profile music section, visible from the sidebar.

Adding a track from someone else's profile

You can pull a song straight from another person's profile music instead of searching from scratch. Open their profile, tap the playing track, and either hit Add to Profile on mobile or use the right-click menu on desktop to save it to your own profile.

Privacy settings

Your profile music behaves like the rest of your personal information. Go to Settings → Privacy → Bio and choose whether everyone, only your contacts, or nobody can see it. You can also add exceptions for specific people.
